Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 425°F. Brush a large cookie sheet with ½ tablespoon of the oil; sprinkle with the cornmeal.

  2. Sprinkle the flour over a work surface. Unroll the pizza crust dough onto the floured surface; starting at the center, press into a 16x10-inch rectangle. Cut the dough lengthwise into 4 strips, about 2½ inches wide each.

  3. Place 7 pepperoni slices on each strip, leaving ½ inch uncovered at each end. Cut each string cheese piece in half lengthwise; place 4 halves over the pepperoni on each strip, overlapping the ends to fit.

  4. Bring the sides of each strip up over the filling and pinch tightly together, stretching the dough as needed to fully enclose the pepperoni and cheese; pinch the ends to seal. Roll and shape each into a 16-inch log. Form each log into a U-shape, then cross the ends and fold them down onto the bottom of the U to form a pretzel shape. Place on the cookie sheet. Brush with the remaining ½ tablespoon oil; sprinkle with the Parmesan.

  5. Bake 13 to 17 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm with the pasta sauce for dipping.

Notes

- Pepperoni here is measured by slice count, which the house reference doesn't cover directly (only cup-based chopped/sliced densities). Estimated using the house sliced-pepperoni density (100 g/cup ≈ 2.8 g/slice), consistent with standard commercial regular-size pepperoni. - prepTime and totalTime estimated from the instructions (rolling, cutting, and shaping 4 pretzels is the main time driver); source gave only the bake-time range.
