About MKRecipes

MKRecipes is a self-hosted recipe site. Every recipe lives as a Markdown note in an Obsidian vault — that vault is the only place recipes are written or edited. This site doesn't store a second copy anywhere: no database, no CMS. At build time it reads the vault's Markdown directly and renders it as pages, so the vault stays the single source of truth.

Editing a recipe means opening it in Obsidian, exactly like any other note. Rebuilding the site picks up whatever's currently in the vault — titles, ingredients, instructions, tags, cuisine, images, and any [[wikilinks]] to other recipes, which is how the "Related Recipes" you see on a recipe page get discovered.

Built with Astro, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, and fully statically generated.
