Instructions
Cook the hamburger in 9 cups water in a large pot until no longer pink; drain most of the liquid, leaving enough to keep the chili loose.
Add the onion, chili powder, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, tomato sauce, ketchup, and cayenne (if using). Stir to combine and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 1 hour 45 minutes.
