Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, celery, and carrot; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Season with the salt and pepper. Add the crushed tomatoes and bay leaves; stir to combine.
Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 to 40 minutes.
